Ya’ll are going to look at the post and be like, this isn’t a post about your family camping trip!
This is, in fact, a shameless campaign to prove how awesome camping is on the Oregon Coast
and how much better it would be camping with a family that has such good looking kids!
I am innocent.
However, if it does start you thinking about meeting us on the Southern Oregon Coast line,
I swear, I will not, under any circumstances, promise a dinner of roasted hot dogs
and then forget the hot dogs at home
and then text you {which I manage to do walking around the entire campsite like a crazy person looking for a location that receives cell service} while you are in the check out line of the one, expensive grocery store in town,
where you already were,
because you were purchasing sunblock, because naturally I didn’t bring any,
because the weatherman had convinced me that it would be cold and rainy the en.tire time and it definitely was not,
and you already had two of my children because practically everyone has less children than me and you felt bad for me.
Nor will I usher all of my sleep deprived, filthy, filthy children to your campsite while my husband and I are frantically trying to put all the camping stuff away
because it did, in fact, rain.
But, unfortunately/fortunately? only during the exact time that we determined we should start packing up.
So, in conclusion, you’re now desperately trying to find my contact information and checking your calendar so that we can, in reality, go camping together.
The weather was perfect, warm enough during the day to play at the beach
Cool enough at night that we almost all had hypothermia but could enjoy our hot chocolate and campfire.
I thought it entirely logical that I should put brand new shoes on Libby, who is just barely managing this whole up right business, while camping.
She spent a small portion of her waking hours trying to remove them.
We were camped right next to this little creek that was perfect for the kids to get all of their clothes wet in at eight o’clock in the morning.
And the beach.
My kids are dressed from head-to-toe, remember it was supposed to be cold and rainy?
So I ended up stripping them down.
And another covered bridge checked off my list.
Hope your house is quieter, cleaner, and cooler than mine, but if it isn’t,
want to go camping?
Katie
