How you love them and they can drive you crazy?
This week we had a perfect example of that.
Dearest Adeline wanted desperately to make some Gak for the siblings for Valentine’s.
Endearing, because she tends to be our least charitable child.
And then she nagged relentlessly till:
I said yes
looked up the recipe
purchased the ingredients
and turned my hands, along with hers, blue while mixing it up.
And then we put it in a secure bag, and under her bed till Valentine’s Day.
At least that’s the assumption I was working under.
What actually happened is she had taken it out from under her bed,
opened up the bag
placed it on a blue sleeping mat
right in front of the space heater that they use in their room
{because we were kind enough to convert the storage room into an actual room
that is quiet, and warm, and has brand new carpet}
where the Gak commenced to warm and liquify slightly enough
to run all over the mat
and on to the brand new, expensive carpet.
Don’t worry, I’m still speaking to her.
After she cleaned up the entire mess and threw the offensive Gak in the trash before she had to leave for school…
Here she is in all her charitable innocence and the rest of our week in pictures.
The kids made their class Valentine’s on Sunday afternoon.
I guess play dough is kind of a full contact sport around here.
Moments later Libby realized a corded hand mixer would make the perfect pull toy.
Libby playing with the toy she never cared about till I pulled it out to take to the thrift store.
Monday afternoon we took advantage of a sunny afternoon.
And bathtime is always a great time to take pictures.
Wearing his Superman shirt.
He learned to do this puzzle all by himself this week.
When the two of them realized it was cleaner to play in the toy bin then take the toys out of the toy bin.
Bennett and his Little People
Bennett wanted me to see this trick.
At first glance it didn’t seem super impressive.
But then I realized I probably could not do it.
Heading up for a bath.
Unloading the dirty dishes.
Snowglobe
I loved this fun moment with all the girls surrounding the piano on Sunday morning.
Feel free to leave suggestions, questions or actual comments!
Regardless, I hope you’re surviving February {I swear it feels like the longest shortest month}.

You couldn't make up this story if you tried! My heart goes out to you!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy heart bleeds for you about the carpet...sometime I'll have to tell you about the time I went Christmas shopping and left the boys at home...carpet and fire were involved....our (then) new house could have burned to the ground!
ReplyDeleteYesterday was a long, long day for me and the night even longer. I kept coughing and left our bed at 11:00...slept 2 1/2 hours in a chair, then a couple more in Greg's bed (he's in Maui for the week)...back to the chair and finally got about 4 hours in our bed....not good.
I love your blog and your pictures...when I see there's a post from you it always makes me glad. Marsha
I want to see you try the trick
