This Photography Thing

is getting serious.

Get this!

I had to BUY an editing program.

Because

my free, outdated editing program

is just not cutting it any more.

Apparently.

I’m like legit now, guys.

I can now do like a million different edit things to my photos.

Which I’m actually not doing.

Because I have literally no time.

But, someday, I’ll move past the initial straighten and crop.

Maybe when the rain starts and the garden stops and the kids sleep more and I sleep less.

So…

not today.

Unfortunately we’ve had an absurd amount of smoke.

If you haven’t heard, the whole state of Oregon is basically on fire.

It’s super sad, and it kind of reminds you how much you take for granted clean air and sunshine.

But the smoke has finally cleared and I think I didn’t realize how depressed I MIGHT have been with all the lack of sun, and it being hot, and the kids being cooped up.

Thankful for the clear skies.

I don’t have that many flowers growing this year…so I’m trying REALLY hard not to be mad when my kids pick them for me.

I had Elizabeth take this picture.

On Sunday mornings the girls all gather in my room to put on lipstick...yes, even me.

We went on this hike.

And we invited some friends.

Which we shouldn’t have.

Because we didn’t really know what we were doing.

Even though we thought we knew what we were doing.

In conclusion it was WAAAY past dark and our ankles were all torn up from blackberry brambles and the kids were starting to talk about how cold it might be if we ended up staying the night and the possibility that there might be bears and whether or not they were nocturnal by the time we got out of there.

So…hiking may not come as naturally to us as we once thought…

And Adeline was so busy being helpful at the park I didn’t snag a picture of her.

Which hurt her feelings.

So we ran across the street to the now torn down plot and had her stand on a pile of rubble for some fun silhouettes.
