Anything I Post

will be completely underwhelming to last week.

Where I managed to find all the terrible pictures of me through high school.

Which wasn’t hard.

Because all pictures of me were terrible.

Did I not care?

Actually, I’ll answer this rhetorical question, I distinctly remember not caring.

Sometimes there is no sense in this world.

Did my parents not care?

Did society not care?

Where was the caring?

Not suprisingly, that blog post was the most responded to of my blogging career.

It surpassed new babies and old houses.

Stories about injured chickens and anecdotes about Adeline stuffing toilet paper up her nose.

People love a good train wreck.

Unfortunately, actually, scratch that, fortunately, that was majority of the terrible photos of myself during that trying time known as freshman year.

Sorry.

Totally not sorry.

I mean, but we’re not surprised.

Right?

That there’s not MORE pictures?

OK.

On to zero pictures of me sporting everything 90s in the 90s and onto pictures of my kids.

Whom I care about.

And give proper encouragement to in the wardrobe department hoping they might feel good looking at themselves in the future.

I wanted to make a more conscious effort to capture my older kids so I did a portrait of each of them.

The best part of this tray is that it is divided into equal portions, with a distinct dividing line, to help keep the peace.

This picture is so Spencer: dirty hands, scraped shin, shoelaces untied…

They tore down the house across the street.

Which is unfortunate, on multiple levels.

It went from being a single family home on four acres to being developed into 21 homes.

The house was built by our previous neighbor’s father.

In the 1930s.

It had fallen into disrepair and the family was in debt so they sold the property to a developer to get out of the red.

So, I’ve been using it for picture taking.

It has this little patch of milkweed.

I totally made my kids dress up and drove to a nicer nearby neighborhood to take some pictures.

Because Halloween is hectic.

Well, I guess that’s it.

Hope you’re having a lovely week and enjoying all the things fall has to offer.

  1. I'm sorry but my favorite post to date is still the one where you and Bryce debate the bed space. Classic on so many levels. I loved Katie in the 90s and no amount of fashion shaming will change that. These blog pictures this week are wonderful! I love the faces in the bubbles, the shared lunch tray and the purple heart panties at the park. But that b&w portrait of Elizabeth steals my heart! Gorgeous!
