A Hike Where I Took the Wrong Path and Fourth of July in Melba, ID

But for real.

Bryce came home from a hike with the churchs’ youth one evening and told me about this great new hike.

He gave me some vague slash specific instructions.

And the kids and I headed out the next day.

And I totally got there just fine.

And found a trail.

And hiked the trail with not enough fish crackers for five children,

but plenty of photo space on my camera

hashtag priorities

and wandered around a beautiful mountainside until we decided enough was enough

and asked some encouraging youth how in the heck to get back down.

But it was lovely and

the kids were troopers and

carried Libby for long stretches

and sang songs

and are still speaking to me.

And then we traveled across desert Oregon to desert Idaho to visit my family for the 4th and celebrate the right way.

Small town style.
