So, if you’re new to the area, allow me to explain.
My sisters, sisters-in-law, my mom and myself participate in a Sister’s Weekend.
We each make a surprise gift, times that by the number of women participating, and mail it out the first weekend in September.
Basically, we each get seven gifts in the mail in about a weeks time.
And each of them are different.
Last year, I made make-up bags.
I usually make one extra gift to giveaway on my blog.
However, none of my family have received theirs yet, and many of them read my blog, so I can’t disclose what I’ve made.
So, to sum it up, it’s a surprise giveaway, but! a giveaway nonetheless.
To participate:
- Make sure you’re a follower.
- Leave a comment telling me what your favorite movie from the 80s is
- And enter by Tuesday
The winner will be randomly selected and I’ll announce who it is Wednesday morning.

I am a follower! Ferris Bueller hands down favorite comedy from the 80's. Looks like I'm the first one to comment, does that mean I win by default? LOL ;)
ReplyDeleteI am a follower! Not a huge connoisseur of 80's movies, but The Little Mermaid is my favorite Disney movie and I do believe it came out in the 80's. Excited to see what you're giving away!
ReplyDeleteI follow! And my favorite movie from the 80's is Grease! Love it!
ReplyDeleteFavorite movie...definitely GIrls Just Wanna Have Fun! Such a classic and I have the best memories of watching it with my friends in junior high! Ferris Bueller is also right there at the top!
ReplyDeleteBetter Off Dead. I'm going for the giveaway but don't think I really deserve it since I owe you big time already. I do know what the gift is and it is super cute.
ReplyDeleteI do follow too :) My favorite movie from the 80's has to be The Princess Bride. I love it. If I won once, I can do it again, right? :)
ReplyDeleteI follow, and I love your blog. Your the best visiting teacher and I have lots of favorite 80's movies. Maybe too many to mention?
ReplyDeletePrincess Bride, Top Gun, Ferris Bueller, Pretty in Pink, Adventures in Babysitting and who could forget the Back to the Future series?
Does that work? LOL!
I am a follower and a sureprise giveaway is awesome!! Love your idea for the Sister's Weekend - what a thrill!! It must be fun deciding on the surprise gift to make too! Anyway, the only movie that I can remember that I loved is "Grease" (I still watch it with my daughter when it comes on tv and she has come to love it too!). Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteSo I had to come up with something different since someone already mentioned the Princess Bride. My other fav is Anne of Green Gables because well who doesn't love a movie about a girl who can "talk the hind leg off a mule." Right now Adam's doing his best to talk said mule's leg off...
ReplyDeleteThe Princess Bride. Hands down. I may or may not be able to recite the entire thing from start to finish. I am not ashamed.
ReplyDeleteDon't judge. My favorite movie was Mannequin. Or maybe it's Splash! And Goonies. And Anne of Green Gables. To name a few, I'm breaking the rules since you said to name one, but how does a girl decide?
ReplyDeleteI loved ET....it was the first movie I ever saw in a theater! Can't wait to see what the surprise is! Little man is getting SO big!
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower, I'll admit it. And I love so many 80's movies it isn't funny. 3 Amigos is always good. And I don't want to win the giveaway, I just want to comment, because comments are validating.
ReplyDeleteI will send you a prize if you agree to be my sister. : )
ReplyDeleteFavorite 80's movie: Top Gun. Easy. Those aviator sunglasses just look good.
I follow
ReplyDeleteThe first 80s movie that came to mind was "girls just gotta have fun" but I must admit that after reading some of the other favorites I am doubting mine...I mean really...Top gun is pretty awesome!
I also think this is a fun idea. Maybe someday I will suggest it to the Zeyer ladies.
Toss up between "Princess Bride" and "Say Anything" (I'm a sucker for anything John Cusack). And the picture of your son is awesome, BTW. So cute!
ReplyDeleteMan from Snow River is the only one that hasn't been mentioned that's on my top ten list. Anne of Green Gables and Princess bride are near the top as well. So exciting! I think you should post about all the gifts so I can see all the Briner/Bolander craftiness!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I think I've watched most of those movies mentioned with you! One of my ultimate favs is a Christmas Story. The leg lamp, the duck head cutting, the soap eating, the pink bunny pj's...you know you love it :)
