I Really Wanted To Play….

that thing that was going around Facebook.

You know where you say random things about yourself?

It was super fun to read what everyone else had to say about themselves.

{And I love talking about myself…}

But the one person’s status I commented on, never gave me a number.

It’s a good thing I’m not a quitter….

So here’s some random things about me:

  1. I never eat the last corner of my toast or sandwich.
  2. When I was 13, I ‘bought’ a horse by shoveling horse poop for a guy down the street that bred horses.  Her name is Sable.  She still lives at my parent’s house.
  3. I loathe my nose.  For real.  It’s pointy and round at the same time, the nostrils are enormous, and it’s weirdly large.
  4. I blow dry my feet in the morning when it’s cold outside.
  5. I jay walk.  All of the time.
  6. When I was in college, I was a shameless dater.  I once had three dates in one day.  Another time I walked by this cute boy who had just received some change back from a purchase and told him that was the perfect amount of money to take a girl out for ice cream.
  7. However, I also ended up dating this boy who was the son of a polygamist.
  8. I was super shy, up until the 4th grade.
  9. In kindergarten I was riding my bike home from school and turned to wave at one of my friends and slammed into a mailbox.
  10. In high school, I rear-ended another car at a stoplight in my parent’s car that I was driving home from work because my sister had rolled our kid’s car and while my parent’s car was in the shop I borrowed a neighbor’s car for a date because the boy I was dating didn’t have a car because he and his sister had gotten T-boned by another car and while on the date I got hit by a truck damaging my neighbor’s car.  All in the same week.
  11. I firmly believe that McDonald’s has the best French fries.
  12. When I was a sophomore in high school I had both braces and glasses.  {Cruel, right?}  I had this really cranky, intimidating English teacher {Hi, Ms. Moore!} for my last period of the day. She let me throw a party the day I got my braces off.
  13. The Count of Monte Cristo is one of my favorite books of all time.

Hope you’re having a good week,

  1. Um...I just laughed out loud...while in class...with students working quietly...because of #10...they will forgive you. :) Love the picture...wherever did you have it taken? love you lots, sis....

  2. Cute picture of you and your little guy (who is getting big!). #7 is a little creepy! I guess I did that game once but it must not have been very interesting because no one commented on it...oh well. :) The problem for me is once something is over, it's over and I don't go back to it. Guess I could tell you that I never dated a guy named John. You weren't probably even born when the Marsha/John commercials came out...Marsha, Marsha, Marsha is bad enough and everyone thinks they are so original when they say it. Please!
How are your holiday preparations coming along? I'm looking forward to visiting and see all your neat Katie touches. We need a visit...miss seeing you more than a brief wave at church. Oh, does Elizabeth know I'll be her Primary teacher next year? Hope she likes the idea...I do. It will be a good class and a good year.

  3. I'm going to assign myself the number of 1. My pet peeve is people who leave their windshield wipers running and running for no apparent reason. How can their car possibly require continuous wiping when I'm right behind them and only have 2 drops (or flakes) on my windshield? I just sit in my car cringing wondering how they stand the sound of the windshield wipers on a nearly dry window? Can you tell it's precipitating here today and the drive to drop the kids off at school took at least twice as long as normal?

  4. So I fibbed a bit. I really don't have only one pet peeve, but that's all I'm going to share for today. And if you're going to complain about how my one fact about myself was really a complaint then I'll share another one. My favorite color is orange. Really, truly.

  5. Thanks for sharing your list! Its funny, I've had the same feelings about wanting to play the "game". But I've been a little shy about it. My list of random is actually already written and waiting to be published (on my blog) because facebook might be just to public, I'm still trying to decide if I want to be cool or not. BTW, I think you have a fabulous nose and Monte Christo probably makes my top ten.

  6. That's so funny! I thought the same thing with that little game. I commented on 4 people's and none of them gave me a number. I love these random thoughts of you...and I could totally see Mrs. Moore letting you throw a braces-be-gone party. :) Maybe I'll post some random thoughts of me on my blog. We'll see if I get there. You rock!

  7. I stopped giving people numbers because some people already played and I was tired of checking before giving out numbers. Maybe that's what happened with yours? Anyways, I remember you mentioning dating the son of a polygamist. Have you ever watched Sister Wives?? I love that show. I worked with some polygamist nurses in St George, UT. I too blow dry my feet. And I loved Ms. Moore!! You just had to start off on her good side and be cautious around her. Fun to remember her! Thanks for sharing.

  8. I say you should still post your random things, they are the best I've read so far! I loved the one about blow drying your feet, great idea.
