Because I have nothing clever to call it.
This post is me playing catch up on the past two weeks of pictures.
I’m not at my best in August.
It’s the hottest month.
The kids are anxious to finish up everything I’ve been promising to do all summer: riding out bikes to Del Taco for dinner, bowling, a friend day, McKee Bridge, etc.
I don’t know how they manage it, but it kinda comes across as nagging.
My house is a disaster and I’m trying not to care, telling myself I’ll handle it when the kids are back in school, but in the mean time I’m apologizing to whomever has randomly dropped by about my floors weeping actual tears because of all the roller skating and Kool Aid spills that they have endured.
It’ll pass.
That’s what everyone keeps promising and threatening, anyway.
So I’m taking lots of deep breaths, {and naps} trying to enjoy this blessed life.
Playing hide ‘n’ seek.
Back to school mantel
Extracting our honey.
My bees didn’t make it through the winter, so we’re harvesting the honey they left behind.
I managed some sewing.
Meg is ALWAYS ready to play and have a good time with the younger kids.
Clothes optional.
We had a dance party last Sunday.
Spencer made a computer from Legos and really wanted a picture of it.
HOMEMADE ICECREAM
Making plum pepper jelly with our homegrown plums and jalapenos…53 pints.
She got braces!
These are the moments when my kids hate this documenting our everyday life idea.
When we’re in public.
Laundry room sink bath
The kids earned some money this summer and then promptly spent it at the corner store.
An evening at the park.
This might be one of my favorites I’ve taken this year.
Mine are the kids that aren’t using the equipment properly.
She was pretty proud of this trick.
My parents are coming this week to visit which means we’ll be cleaning the house like crazy people so when they compare my house to my siblings’ the evidence will be less damning.
Aaaand one more camping trip befor we call it a season!
Katie
